Focus on the Environment
Over the next few years, we would like to do more
to help the environment. We accept we will always
travel to go on holiday, and therefore, asked ourselves
what we could do to put something back.
Plans include developing a small wood in the
triangular field behind the grange and installing solar
panels to heat the pool instead of electricity. When
we do develop the Lodgment into our office and
washroom, we want to be as ‘green’ as possible.
We spend the autumns concentrating on planting.
In the autumn of 2009 we planted over 100 trees, added
two, large flower beds and many large shrubs.
Our next project is planting around the edges of the
swimming pool so you will still be able to see the pool
from the gites but with improved ambience. The gardens of the gites were re-designed in the spring of 2010 and the many shrubs planted in them are developing extremely well.
